Swiss CBD Flowers
CBD flowers are the form closest to the raw plant: dried hemp flower tops, rich in CBD, natural terpenes, and minor cannabinoids. At Suisse CBD, all our flowers come from the Weedream brand, cultivated in Switzerland. Here's how to choose your strain and understand what you're buying.
Indoor, Greenhouse, Hybrid, Outdoor: what's the difference?
The cultivation method directly influences the density, aromatic profile, and trichome richness of the flower.
| Cultivation | Characteristics | Typical profile |
|---|---|---|
| Indoor | Totally controlled environment, 100% artificial light, controlled humidity | Dense flowers, abundant trichomes, intense and consistent aromas from batch to batch |
| Hybrid | Greenhouse with natural light supplemented by artificial light, a middle ground between indoor and greenhouse | Quality close to indoor, reduced production cost, good value for money |
| Greenhouse | Greenhouse with natural light only, intermediate conditions | Natural aromatic profile, accessible format |
| Outdoor | Open air, sunlight, natural seasonal cycle | Airier flowers, complex natural aromas, more variable production depending on the year |
Indica, Sativa, Hybrid: what it means for CBD
This is a point that often causes confusion and deserves honest clarification.
In THC-rich cannabis, the Indica/Sativa distinction has a perceived reality: Indica strains are reputed to be more sedating and "stoning," while Sativa strains are more stimulating and cerebral. These effects are primarily due to THC and its interaction with the endocannabinoid system, modulated by the terpenes present.
In CBD, this distinction does not have the same impact. Without THC or with infinitesimal traces, there is no psychedelic Indica or Sativa effect per se. What the strain's genetics mainly influence is the terpene profile, the aromas, and to a lesser extent the nuances of perceived sensation. But expecting a "drowsy" effect from an Indica CBD flower like with a THC strain would be a disappointed expectation.
- Indica tendency: earthy, woody, subtly fruity aromas (dominant Myrcene). Often chosen in the evening for its soothing olfactory profile.
- Sativa tendency: citrus, herbaceous, lively aromas (Limonene, Pinene). Often enjoyed during the day.
- Hybrid (strain): genetics crossed between the two families, intermediate profile depending on the dominant traits.
In summary: the Indica and Sativa labels remain useful for choosing an aroma, much less for predicting a precise effect when it comes to CBD.
How to use CBD flowers
The vast majority of consumers use flowers by combustion, rolled alone or with a tobacco substitute. This is a reality. Combustion produces harmful gases linked to the process itself, regardless of CBD or tobacco, but for people who have been consuming cannabis for a long time, it is often the most natural way to gradually reduce THC while maintaining the ritual.
- Combustion (joint, pipe): the most common method. For people who choose this route, using it without tobacco with a plant-based substitute at least reduces nicotine dependence. A quality filter slightly reduces inhaled particles.
- Vaporization: a method that preserves terpenes and avoids combustion. Absorption is more effective and the aromatic experience is finer. Recommended temperature between 170 and 210°C depending on the vaporizer. This is the healthiest option if lung health is a priority.
- Infusion: to be combined with a fatty substance (whole milk, coconut oil) to release CBD, which is fat-soluble. Water alone is not enough.
- Cooking: decarboxylation in the oven (110°C, 40 minutes) then incorporation into butter or oil.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do CBD flowers get you high?
No. CBD has no psychoactive effect. You may feel relaxation or muscle release, but no intoxication or loss of control. THC, on the other hand, is below the legal threshold.
Can you smoke CBD flower?
Technically yes, but combustion destroys a large part of the terpenes and produces harmful substances associated with smoking. Vaporization is significantly preferable for health and the aromatic experience.
Which strain to choose for the evening?
Indica or earthy profile strains are generally appreciated in the evening: Plutonium Kush, Blueberry Muffin, Northern Light. For daytime, citrus profiles work well: Lemon Haze, Skittlez, Sunset Sherbet.
How to store flowers?
In an airtight container, away from light and humidity, at room temperature. Avoid the refrigerator which generates condensation. Good storage preserves terpenes and freshness for several months.
What is the difference between a CBD flower and a CBD pollen?
The flower is the dried, unprocessed flower top. Pollen (or hash) is a concentrate obtained by separating and compressing the trichomes of the plant. It is therefore more concentrated in CBD than the flower.
CBD is not a medicine. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Reserved for adults.
